jazzeegurl, cattrius and I almost watched New Moon today. The idea was floated as a joke because Jaz thinks Taylor Lautner's hot and I think KStew's hot (yeah Chris has no say in this) but was ultimately rejected after "Chris, you're paying" was denied. Unfortunately, this got me into the mood for a movie for reals and it was the only thing on at the time. We actually walked up to the queue for the counter before finally deciding that no, we were not going to see New Moon.

Almost twelve hours on, I still can't believe I almost gave money to Twilight.

We went to get coffee but the place closed after an hour, so we sat in the trunk of my car for another hour and a half talking. :) It was kind of magical.

1) Roleplaying Lavinia from Shakespeare's Titus Andronicus
Spoiler text for a Shakespeare play: She can't talk and has no hands. Making friends would be a bitch. However, I suppose she would quickly have to find a character to depend on... And she'd be a lot of fun in logs.

2) Actually (as opposed to closet) cosplaying to Anime Evolution 2010 in the not impossible, just a bit unlikely event I end up there
Female characters with black/dark brown hair that would not require way too much gel and/or just a wig and costumes whose components could be worn every day, anyone? So far I've got Rinoa Heartilly from FF8, a spoiler (spoiler text: real!Shiki Misaki) from TWEWY, and Haruhi Suzumiya. (Actually I am not sure why I note Haruhi considering I'd rather cosplay the bunny girl outfit than the school uniform; those two are her most iconic and thus I exclude every other outfit which actually is every day clothes.)

3) Compiling a list of TV Tropes present within my life
Actually I've started; I note it here because it being TV Tropes, I get distracted.

4) Throwing out The World Ends in Wellington (the book of the aborted game idea) and writing more The Melancholy of Daimon Masaru supposedly for NaNoWriMo
You know something's wrong when If All Else Fails, Write Porn fails. Yet with Melancholy, I've done a little more on Melancholy Part III and skipped forth (ah, writing out of chronological order &hearts) to one version of a scene from Snow Mountain Syndrome. Hm.

Yesterday out of "I missed the bus" boredom, I went to my old high school for a visit and catch up with some of my old favorite teachers, ie. Mrs. McKenzie and Ms. Sutherland. It turned out Ms. Sutherland was away so I got Mr. Maskill instead, but still, it was lovely catching up, not to mention a lot easier than the last time I dropped in, as with the seniors on exam leave, they all had less classes they should have been in.

ALSO: Help me pick one more song. I'm doing Mercy - Duffy. Something along the same genre lines, mainstream family-friendly pop. And by family-friendly I don't mean Disney, I just mean no "I wanna bang you".

Running on three hours' sleep, having gotten to the point of jitters/sleeplessness where I wanted to go shake in a corner, having completely missed flailing with my classmates beforehand (it helps), I opened my LATI214 exam with trepidation... Only to grin upon realizing that the first, supposedly unseen text, was the start of Dido's curse on Aeneas, which I had done an internal on in Year 12 and thus almost knew by heart.

With such a great start, of course it all went downhill from there. I spent five minutes wondering when the hell we'd done Ovid before finally recognizing three words I knew I'd actually once translated. At most I could parse (read: guess) one of two grammar bits given. I could only comment on points of interest for, surprise surprise, Virgil, because I'd done that text in Year 12 too. My translations were trainwrecks.

Oh, Latin, beloved subject of six years, I am sorry that I could not give you the farewell you deserve.
